  • Accounts contain users, roles, jobs, and metadata schema.
  • Each Account is assigned a Source Folder on the storage that holds the files to be uploaded to GLOBALedit®.
  • Each Account also has a collection of Roles that are used to assign users to jobs.
  • All Users, regardless of their Admin privileges, must explicitly be given permission to view and work with images on the User side of GLOBALedit®.

View Accounts

  • Click on any of the column headers to sort accounts by that category.

Account Info

  • Click on the account name to be directed to the Account Info page.

  • After editing, click Save Changes.

Upload Folders

  • The GLOBALedit account upload folder is a single folder on the local server that the system looks to when uploading or syncing a job. This folder can be unique for each account.

Roles

  • Roles are permissions that specify user privileges for each job assignment.
  • Choose Roles under the desired account.

  • This lists all the roles associated with the selected account. GLOBALedit provides serveral default roles, which can be edited or deleted as needed by clicking the underlined role name.
  • Choose Add New Role to create a new role for an account.

Adding a New Role

  • The Role Name is how it will appear in the drop down box when assigning job permission to a user.
  • When you are finished, press Create Role.

View

  • The View options determine which assets the user will be allowed to see.
  • For example, by only checking "Unkilled," the user will only see the images that have not been killed; or by checking "Selects", the user will only see the images that have been marked "Select".

Rating Options

  • Rating Options control edit ratings to which the user has access.
  • Edit ratings can be set to Modify, View, or Hide.

Enable

  • The Enable options determine whether edit ratings can be shared or kept private by each user.

Usage Caps

  • Usage caps allow a max to be set for both Storage Usage and Account Users for both an account and account group.
  • If applicable, select the Account name in ‘View Accounts’ sub tab, and the Usage Caps sub tab within the Account.

  • Enter the Storage Caps in GB in the space provided, and/or the total number of allowed users and press Save.
  • Usage caps can be updated at any time.

Customization

  • You can upload your own customized logo to replace the GLOBALedit® logo in the upper left corner.

  • You can also specify a custom URL for notification emails.

Archive

  • Archives can be created for an account that will allow jobs and images to be exported from the the system to a registered server location in a pre-defined hierarchy of sorted files.

  • Choose Archive under the Account and select the Create New Template link to create an Archive Template for an account.

  • Select the Registered Server Location from the Available Servers drop down, and choose the folder on the server that you want the exported archives to be routed to. The folder will highlight yellow when selected.
  • Enter in a Archive Template Name and/or Notes as how you would like to identify it from the other defined archive routes on the system, and press Next

  • Build the Archive Hierarchy
    • Use the drop down menus to specify folder hierarchy and sort criteria. Use the Plus button to add a level, and the Minus button to remove a level.
    • Folders can be sorted by Edit Rating:
      • Select
      • Kill
      • Alt
      • Approve
      • Non-Killed
      • Other (combination )
    • Folders can be sorted by File Type:
      • RAW
      • Jpeg
      • Tiff
      • Other
    • Press Save when you are finished
    • The saved Archive will be available on user side as a defined Archive Template

  • See Archive to create an Archive from the template.

Metadata

  • Default metadata schemas can be specified for an account. These options are:
    • IPTC Core
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Dublin Core
    • XMP Rights Management
    • Camera Data 1
    • Camera Data 2
    • DISC Photographer
    • DISC Image Metadata
    • XMP Basic

  • Check any schema to be available for the account.

Asset Rights

  • An Account's Asset Rights allows the default download behavior for a restricted user to specified if an assets rights have not been explicitly restricted.

  • Check Enable Asset Rights System to turn on asset rights for the account.
  • The available default options for a Restricted User are:
    • Restrict All Downloads
    • Restrict All Downloads, except Lowres Preview
  • Check Watermark Images to watermark images for all restricted users.

Set Account Watermark

  • Click Setup Watermark to create a customized watermark for your account.
  • To add a text watermark, specify your text, opacity, position, and font.

  • To add an image watermark, click Image. Choose your image file and specify the position.

Add New Account

  • Choose Accounts > Add New Account.

  • Enter the Account Name as you'd like the account to appear to all users on the system.
  • The Account Code may be a shortened version of the Account Name.
  • Click Create Account when you are finished filling in the fields.
  • Your new account will appear on the View Accounts page.
