  • Users in GLOBALedit can now have unique User Names for login purposes. This allows multiple user accounts to be created for one email address, ideal for publicists who represent more than one talent. The user name can be anything the user desires.

Edit

User Search

  • Choose Users > User Search to find users on GLOBAledit, and search by any or all of the given criteria.

  • The results returned will be listed in alphabetical order. Click on the Name of the user or press the icon to edit the permissions or information of the user.

  • To retrieve a user's password from the system, click the user's name in the list, and check the Generate email with user information box and press Save Changes. The user's login information will be emailed to you.

Add New User

  • Choose User > Add New User and enter the required information.

  • The User Name will be what the user uses to log in to the system.
  • Check the appropriate boxes to enable tools and features for the user, such as Cart, Lightboxes, or Search. See User Permissions for descriptions for each user permission.
  • Once the user is created, the new username and password will be emailed to you, the Admin user -- which you can then forward to the new user.

  • View Metadata - Allows user to view image metadata
    • Edit Metadata - Allows user to edit image metadata
  • Lightbox - Custom collections of images to be created and shared
  • Shopping cart - Shopping Cart allows for ordering services from Industrial Color and multi-file package downloads from GLOBALedit
  • Products - Space where contact sheets can be saved and pulled from the system
  • Markup Editor - Enables the Markup Tool in the Image Editor, allowing pen markup and text annotation of each image
  • Image Download - Allows users to download the preview jpeg or any available hires
    • Image Generator - Allows user to create custom generated file types from the preview jpeg
  • Search - Ability to search available assets by metadata, notes, filename, and/or image rating

Management Tools

  • View Reports - Reports include Download Tracker and overall System Reports
  • Manage Archives - Allows user to organize images by file type and/or rating and route images off of GLOBALedit to a local server
  • Manage Asset Rights - Allows user to set the Asset Rights date field on the Admin side, as well as receive all image requests via email with the ability to approve or deny requests. Note that checking this box will uncheck the "Asset Rights Restricted User" box.
  • Manage Galleries - Allows user to create, send, and manage Approval Galleries

Library Management

  • User side Library Manager - Gives user access to assigned jobs, specific functionalities are assigned below
  • Create job
  • Add to job - Allows user to create new folders, upload files, append derivatives
  • Move folders/assets - Allows user to move around folders and images within a job
  • Delete jobs/folders/assets
  • Rename jobs/folders/assets

Admin Tools

  • Admin functions - Gives user access to the Admin side of GLOBALedit. Allows user to create, update, and/or delete jobs, users, and/or accounts.
  • Assign Jobs - Allows users to assign jobs to other users.
  • Sync Jobs - Allows user to sync jobs from the registered source point
  • Filename Editor - Gives user access to batch file renamer in Image Editor

User Types

  • Asset Rights Restricted User - Mandates that user request permission for each high-res download regardless of expiration date. Note that checking this box unchecks the "Manage Asset Rights" box.
  • XFER User - Allows GLOBALedit username and password to login to xfer.globaledit.com and access account's source directory

User Groups

  • A user group is a collection of users in an account that can be assigned to a job.
Edit

Create User Group

  • Click on User Groups and choose your account if necessary.
  • Click the + icon next to "User Groups" and name your new user group accordingly.

Image Edit

Manage Users in User Group

  • Click the + icon next to "Users" to add a new user to the user group.
  • Specify the user's role and click OK to save. Continue until all desired users have been added to the user group.
