Overview:
Creating a Master Schema is a great way to map data to fields that are associated with other schemas. Rather than needing to click through multiple schemas to enter data, users can use the Master Schema to simultaneously enter data. To publish a Master Schema, you’ll need to configure all the same settings as you would for a Custom Schema, but you must also choose which schema and field each entry maps to.
Create Master Schema:
To create a Master Schema, click on the Admin tab, then click Metadata, and then click on the Master Schemas tab.
Once you are within the Master Schemas location, click on the orange Create New button.
Once selected, a Create Master Schema window will appear allowing you to set up and publish your Master Schema.
Name: Enter a unique name that will serve as the title of the Master Schema
URI: Enter a URI that will allow that will be used to identify the Master Schema resource on the web
Prefix: Enter a prefix that will serve as an abbreviation for the Master Schema's Name
Account(s): Select the accounts in which the Master Schema will be located and can be manipulated within the Metadata Viewer
Display Name: Enter a unique Display Name that will be viewable in the Metadata Viewer to reference the Schema/Field. This name can also be generic depending on which of your users will be entering this data.
Description: The Description can be used to provide context/clarity of the Display name and field.
Map To Schema: Select which Schema the metadata value(s) will map to. Selecting the dropdown arrow will reveal all Schemas (ie Dublin Core, Photoshop, IPTC Core, etc) that are within the Metadata Viewer, including any Custom Schemas that were published.
Map To Field: Select which XMP Field within the chosen schema the entered metadata values(s) will map to. Selecting the dropdown arrow will reveal all XMP Fields that are associated with the chosen Schema.
Type: This information will auto-populate based on the XMP field type associated with the chosen schema.
Bulk Actions / Actions: By selecting the dropdown next to either, you are able to Add/Remove a row to include more schemas and fields.

Once published, users can then access the Master Schema within the Metadata Viewer, then update the Fields of the respected Display Name. Data saved to a master schema field on an asset will appear in the appropriate mapped field.
