Photoshop Plugin – globaledit Support

Photoshop Plugin gives your team instant access to assets in their assigned globaledit Projects directly from Photoshop. Users can view markups, make edits and upload new versions directly to globaledit without leaving the Photoshop application.

Initial Setup: Adobe Photoshop Plugin

The Creative Cloud Marketplace features plugins and extensions from Adobe and third-party developers like globaledit. The globaledit Photoshop plugin is now available via the Marketplace here:

You can also open Creative Cloud and click Marketplace along the top menu.

Here you can search globaledit or scroll through the list of plug-ins

Click Get and the plugin will download automatically to your Adobe Photoshop

You can access your plugins via the top menu bar Plugins

Log into globaledit from the Photoshop Plugin

Launch Photoshop from your computer. When Photoshop launches you will see a globaledit login pop up.

Enter your globaledit account email and password.

If this is your first time logging in or if it’s been a while, you will be asked for your 2FA.

If you’ve logged into your account before, you will not be asked for 2FA.

Adding Photoshop Access to Assets

Photoshop Plugin users will automatically have access to assets in their Collections or assigned Projects from Photoshop.

Working with Assets in Photoshop

Once you’re logged in, you will see the list of Organizations you have access to. Whether you have one or many, you will see icons.

Single-click on the Organization and a blue bounding box around the organization tile will appear.

When the Organization is highlighted, the Accounts dropdown menu will populate with the Accounts you have access to.

Choose the Account you’re looking to access then click Select.

Double-click the Project or Collection, then select the Asset to work on within Photoshop.

Here you can review the markup notes detailed below the image.

Click the 3-dots on the top right corner of the asset.

Click Open in Photoshop.

Confirm if you want the asset to open with globaledit markup layers and select Open.

The markup layers will show up as individual layers under the (GE Markup Layer) folder.

The color of the status in globaledit will reflect as the color of the layer in Photoshop.

Returning to the globaledit Plugin

Launch Photoshop from your computer.

Go to Plugins on the top menu bar. Go to globaledit > globaledit.

Saving an Asset to globaledit

When you’re ready to upload your asset back into globaledit as a version, go to the globaledit plugin.

On the asset screen, click the 3-dots in the right hand corner.

Click Upload Version.

Update the filename per your retouching workflow if needed. Versions do not require the same filename.

By checking the box, you can remove the globaledit markup layers on your version. By keeping it unchecked, the markup layers will be saved along with all the other layers.

Click Export.

The speed of the upload and preview generation will depend on the size of the asset and local internet speeds. In globaledit, the preview will appear when it is fully uploaded and available.

When available, the asset will appear in globaledit as the source asset.

To review all versions of the asset, double-click on the asset to access the 1up view. On the film strip below, click the number on the right hand edge of the asset to expand and review all versions.
